License Prerequisites As of January 1, 2003, Article 13, Subtitle 5 of the Baltimore City Code provides that an annual Multiple Family Dwelling License will not be issued unless:
Annual Inspection for Renewal Notice of Renewal and Annual Inspection - For license year 2004 and every year thereafter, you will receive by mail, from the Building Official, a notice of appointment for the annual inspection of the premises. Rescheduling - within 1 week of receiving the notice, you may reschedule the inspection to a date no more than 2 weeks after the date specified in the notice. No Entry - should you fail to provide entry for the scheduled inspection or unduly delay the inspection, your license will not be renewed and you will be cited for operating without a license. As outlined in Section 5-21, failure to comply with provisions of this law is a misdemeanor and upon conviction, is subject to a fine of up to $500 for each offense. Staggered License Renewal Effective January 1, 2004, license renewals will occur on a staggered basis - one quarter of all licenses will be renewed in each calendar quarter. You will be notified by the inspector of the exact date and time of your inspection.
